RTA is advising drivers north of Coffs

LOCAL drivers need to heed changed traffic conditions north of Coffs Harbour due to work on the Sapphire to Woolgoolga highway upgrade.

Starting yesterday from Korora to Emerald Beach:

Night work for road patching is planned until Thursday, November 18, between 7pm and 6am, weather permitting.

This night work will require traffic control and every attempt will be made to minimise the noise associated with this activity.

Tomorrow and Wednesday, traffic control will be in place between 9:30am and 2:30pm to allow tree clearing next to the highway, the installation of traffic signs and concrete barriers on road shoulders.

Emerald Beach to Woolgoolga:

From today until Thursday traffic control will be in place between 9:30am and 2:30pm to allow tree clearing next to the highway, installation of concrete barriers on road shoulders and site access for trucks. This work is weather dependent

While the works are being carried out, motorists may experience short delays with intermittent lane or shoulder closures in both directions.

A reduced speed zone will be in place as required and these speed limits will be enforceable.

For further information on the Sapphire to Woolgoolga upgrade, the community can contact the toll free information line on 1800 63 63 63.
