Round Hill bushfire contained

QUEENSLAND Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crews have contained a bushfire burning near Bunker Road, Round Hill (between Gladstone and Bundaberg).

Crews will remain on scene throughout the day to monitor the fire, which broke out on Sunday.

A large smoke haze continues to affect nearby areas and residents are advised to close windows and doors and keep medication on hand if suffering from a respiratory illness.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and drive to conditions, as smoke may affect visibility on the roads.
