Rotax Pro Tour stepping up at Coffs Harbour

AUSTRALIA'S Rotax Pro Tour makes its inaugural appearance at the Coffs Harbour Kart Racing Club this weekend.

Coffs local Luke Collett will drive against the large Junior Max field and admits the track will ensure close racing for the large fields.

"I'm feeling nervous but also excited to know I'm competing against some of the best junior drivers in the country," Luke said.

"There is a lot of pressure put on me by the fact this is my home track and I know it well."

CHKC president Scott Hargans is excited by the opportunity to display Australia's best karters to motorsport fans.

"The whole club is looking forward to having such a professional series host one of its rounds at our track," Scott said.

"I personally would like to extend a welcome to every-one attending from interstate and overseas and hope you enjoy your stay."

Promoter Ian Black is excited for the series to be making its first appearance in Coffs Harbour.

"This track is always well looked after and I have to commend the club for the hard work put into every race meeting," he said.

The seventh and final round of the 2014 Rotax Pro Tour began yesterday and continues today with finals tomorrow.
