Roosters CEO flies into Rockhampton and talks with Capras

SYDNEY Roosters CEO Brian Canavan jetted into Rockhampton yesterday, fuelling speculation the Capras could have a new NRL feeder-club in 2016.

Canavan was greeted at Rockhampton Airport by Capras operations manager Brendan Bowers and Capras coaching director Anthony Griffin.

It is believed the premiership-winning executive held talks with Capras and CQ NRL Bid chairman Geoff Murphy.

The Roosters ended their affiliation with NSW Cup side the Newtown Jets in 2014 in an attempt to strengthen their alliance with the Central Coast Division.

The Jets nine-year affiliation with the Roosters saw them reach finals seven times including three grand final appearances.

The Roosters adopted the Wyong Roos as their feeder club for the 2015 season with the side currently positioned fourth on the VB NSW Cup ladder.
