Get All Shook Up for ’50s musical audition

AUDITIONS are being held this weekend for the Coffs Harbour Arts Council's next big production, All Shook Up.

Thespians with a bit of Elvis in their blood are invited to read for one of many parts in the show at the Mud Hut on Saturday and Sunday from 10am-1pm.

The show features many of the King's biggest hits including Burning Love, Jailhouse Rock, Heartbreak Hotel, Blue Suede Shoes and more.

To be performed at the Jetty Memorial Theatre from August 28 to September 9, the producers would like to see all interested parties in their 20s to 60s at the auditions as rehearsals start soon.

The show will be directed by Pat Slattery and will involve a cast of 25 ranging from singers, actors and dancers to a live band.

"The action takes place in the late 1950s and the singing and dancing are fabulous and full of excitement and fun," she said.

"There's lots of cheeky comedy throughout the show but romance is the theme."
