JAMES Roberts has bagged a hat-trick for Brisbane in their thrilling 24-22 Good Friday win over Gold Coast.

The Titans looked to have snatched their first away win at Suncorp Stadium with two minutes to go, before a Kane Elgey kick was charged down by Matt Gillett leading to Roberts' third, which also doubled as the match-winner.

The Broncos were out-enthused early on and in the 10th minute, Tyrone Roberts scooped up a kick, ran across the Broncos' line then flicked out to winger Anthony Don who raced 80 metres for a superb try.

More Titans points came just five minutes later when a pass from Nathan Peats saw Ryan James crash over.

The Broncos were about to get one back when Anthony Milford put Alex Glenn in space but the backrower couldn't hang on to it.

The home side finally got on the scoreboard in the 21st minute when Darius Boyd notched up his 100th try assist by putting James Roberts over.

The heat was immediately put back on the Titans after Tyronne Roberts-Davis was tapped in-goal, but they were able to repel another Broncos attacking raid.

The Broncos made the Titans pay for a Dan Sarginson error in the 30th minute when James Roberts grabbed his second of the night after showing up Dale Copley and Roberts-Davis.

Don could do no wrong in the first half and he was back in the thick of it before the break when freakishly he kicked a Taylor grubber up to Chris Grevsmuhl to put their side six points up.

Both sides came out guns blazing in the second 40, but we didn't see any more points scored until midway through the half when Kodi Nikorima then Milford - who put in an 80-metre effort - both crossed to steal a four-point lead.

The Titans weren't going to die trying and they snatched back the lead when a brilliant no-look grubber from Taylor set up Elgey nine minutes from full time.

The Broncos had their chances late and it seemed like all hope was lost, until the charge down from Gillett put Roberts over for his final try of the night.
