Road trip to get a taste of the great rally
CAR enthusiasts will be raising money for a great cause this weekend for the one-day Endeavour Rally.
The Great Endeavour Rally, one of Australia's premier charity car rallies, is holding a one-day event this Saturday at Jondaryan, west of Toowoomba.
Endeavour Foundation's Nathan Woolhouse said the one-day rally would be perfect preparation for this year's Great Endeavour Rally.
"If you've got a few events under your belt, this is a great way to get back into it ahead of the 2019 Great Endeavour Rally Gulf Trek in July,” he said.
"And for those who haven't been on a rally but want to experience what one is like before they go the whole hog, give it a go - you won't regret it.”
This will be a taste of the 33rd Great Endeavour Rally this year which will leave Bundaberg on July 26 and cover more than 120,000km and raise more than $10M to support people with a disability.
They will travel through flood-affected north-west Queensland with stops including Julia Creek, Karumba and Undara before crossing the finish line on August 3.
Registrations for the one-day rally is open from 8am on Saturday, February 23, at the Jondaryan Woolshed and costs $100 per vehicle.
"This is absolutely the best way to get a taste of what a charity car rally is all about but it's also just a fantastic way to spend a weekend in its own right,” Mr Woolhouse said.
The first car will leave Jondaryan at 10am and stop for lunch at the Endeavour Foundation's Kingaroy Kitchen before returning to Jondaryan at around 4pm for an evening of camping under the stars.
Participants must book their place in the rally by Friday, February 22, and ensure they have the correct equipment and suitable 4WD vehicle.
