Road rage couple to reappear in court

A MAN charged over Wednesday's road rage attack at Moonee remained in custody last night, but his partner was granted conditional bail.

Dimitrious John Pangaris, 37, is accused of recklessly causing grievous bodily harm, armed with intent, damaging property and assault.

Jaimie McDonald, 25, is charged with affray, assault, prohibited drug possession and an outstanding warrant for a bond breach. Both will reappear in court today.

They were arrested in Woolgoolga on Wednesday afternoon over the alleged attack on a Corindi Beach man, 27, and his partner, 22.

Pangaris denied the 'essential allegation regarding the principal charges', his solicitor, Mick O'Loughlin, told yesterday's bail court.

"He is a family man with young children and is obviously very concerned about them," Mr O'Loughlin said. He added McDonald 'certainly used some words' in the incident, but she had intervened to 'prevent an escalation of the violence'.

The court heard the accused moved to Woolgoolga from South Australia on Tuesday.
