Rights way to go for law week

KNOW your rights.

That's the message this Law Week, and Coffs Harbour Library is holding a number of free events to celebrate.

Tomorrow at 11am there will be a free talk on Strata Living: Know Your Rights by local solicitor Christopher O'Brien and Robert Hoiles from the NSW Department of Fair Trading.

Then on Thursday at 10.30am Sally Bryant from Legal Aid will deliver a presentation called 'Older People and the Law'. The session will cover a range of topics relevant to older people including wills and powers of attorney, guarantees, Centrelink, housing and family law.

Legal Aid will then be offering free legal advice sessions until 1pm.

There will also be special story time sessions for preschool youngsters and their families at Coffs Harbour, Woolgoolga and Toormina Libraries throughout the week with guest story teller senior constable Amy Chinner.

These are in Woolgoolga tomorrow, Coffs Harbour on Wednesday and Toormina on Thursday, all at 11am. Children are invited to come dressed up as their favourite law enforcement officer.
