PLANS for a new rifle range have been submitted to Toowoomba Regional Council this week.

The proposed rifle range is associated with the Darling Downs Rifle Club and will be located at 168 Werths Rd, Jondaryan.

The facility will include a shooting range area and club facilities.

The shooting range area will be located within the south-eastern corner of the property and will consist of several firing points, a shotgun area and informal car parking areas.

The club facilities will include two clubhouse buildings, storage, amenities and a formal car parking area.

An existing clubhouse building owned by the Rifle Club will be relocated to the site and will be used for club administration purposes.

An existing farm shed will also be reused as a second club house building which will be utilised for meetings and as a social area.

The buildings to be utilised for the purposes of the outdoor sport and recreation use.

The development will also include a caretaker's residence which will utilise the existing house located on the property.
