Results are in the balance
TWO matches that are being played at the Coffs Coast Sport and Leisure Parks hang in the balance with Nana Glen and Park Beach Bowling Club Colts facing challenging run chases.
The Colts have had their share of close matches already this season and they face another one against Sawtell.
The reigning premiers posted a more than respectable 224 last Saturday but the Colts have all afternoon to travel at a fraction under three runs per over to get the points.
No doubt most of the responsibility for the chase will fall onto the experienced shoulders of Daryl Parmenter and Craig Haworth but it is how the other Colts’ batsmen handle the usually stingy lines that Sawtell bowl that will probably decide the outcome of the contest.
Nana Glen have a batting line-up capable of making a large score but they will need to be at their best to overtake the 266 that Diggers Ex-Services put on the board last week.
One concern that the Diggers team will have when they take the field is the knowledge that their bowling line-up has already conceded scores of 239 and 248 this season.
Dorrigo have already claimed first innings points and top spot on the table against the Coffs Tigers and they will be looking to press home their advantage to try and salvage an outright result at Brelsford Park.SCOREBOARD
- Sawtell 224 v PBBC Colts 0-8
- Diggers Ex-Services 266 v Nana Glen
- Coffs Tigers 95 v Dorrigo 6-125
