Resort sub-division OK

A RESIDENTIAL sub-division to be built on the fairways of the golf course at Novotel Pacific Bay Resort has been granted development approval.

The Northern Joint Regional Planning Panel this week rubber-stamped the proposal, along with a tourist facility proposed for Crescent Head.

The planned housing subdivision would see 32 lots built on land occupied by the resort’s existing golf course.

To accommodate new residents, the resort’s car park near the conference facility would be reconfigured to allow for an additional 32 car parking spaces.

A common boundary would also be adjusted, the developers told the State Government planning panel.

Chair of the Northern JRPP, Garry West, said the developments would generate employment opportunities for local residents both in the short and long term.

“The subdivision would provide additional residential land stock for the Coffs Harbour area and would assist in the growth of local business,” Mr West said.
