Local model's tilt at fame
MANY dream of being a top model but few get the chance to make it.
For Charmaine Perry, that chance came in the form of TV series Australia's Next Top Model.
The Repton beauty has been chosen as one of the top 100 girls for series seven, the first episode of which screens tonight at 8.30pm on Fox8.
“This year is quite exciting as it's the first year that Top Model have taken on 100 girls for episode one, who were chosen out of 14,000 girls Australia-wide,” Ms Perry said.
These girls will be eliminated down to the top 20 by the end of the two-hour first episode.
While Ms Perry couldn't tell us any secrets as to how the action unfolds, she did share her personal highlights and the promise that this season will be full of drama.
“This season is sure to be the most exciting yet, filled with loads of drama and surprises you'd expect from the top model squad,” she said.
“I was also chosen to be featured on the current print advertisements and also the TV commercial, which was an amazing experience.”
She said it was “overwhelming and surreal” walking through Sydney and noticing the print advertisement on the side of buses, on billboards and in magazines at news-stands.
“I hope Coffs Harbour enjoys the new season.”
