Relentless roll-out of broadband continues on Coffs Coast

THE NBN fixed wireless roll-out is continuing at a rapid rate with more than 620 premises in Sapphire Beach and Upper Orara now being able to join the network.

At Sapphire Beach, 408 premises will now be able to access the fixed wireless network, as will 219 premises at Upper Orara.

In rural Australia more than 203,000 homes and businesses are now covered by the network.

The Nationals Member for Cowper, Luke Hartsuyker said this is a great outcome.

"Fast internet is an absolute necessity in this age of high tech connectedness," he said.

"We maintain contact via the internet, conduct our businesses, Skype or Facetime, interact with social media, access educational resources, game, entertain ourselves with streaming content and pay our bills.

"The NBN enables us to access all of this at a speed which makes it not only feasible, but enjoyable."

Potential customers can see the areas served by NBN Co's fixed wireless service at www.nbnco.com.au/maps They may order a new service by contacting a retail service provider.
