Relay is worth all our support

C.EX Group is well under way with their fundraising efforts for this year's Coffs Harbour Relay For Life.

With more than 35 employees already registered to participate on the day, everyone is making a big effort to fundraise both at home and fun ways to fundraise at the club.

The enthusiastic group is gearing up for the big weekend on May 5 and 6 and all involved are particularly committed as they all know someone who has defied the odds and survived cancer or has lost a loved one to this devastating illness.

The C.ex Group's first fundraiser was the Mega Jar which consisted of a 15-litre jar filled with a range of sweet treats where members and gusts were asked to guess the amount of lollies inside for the cost of a gold coin donation.

Glenda Graham was the lucky winner and she was overjoyed by her lifetime supply of goodies. Due to the success of the jar in Coffs Harbour another two will be available at both C.ex Urunga and C.ex Woolgoolga for anyone else who would like to make a lucky guess.

"Everyone is making a real effort to think of exciting ways to participate and fundraise for this great cause," said community relations officer, Lauren Beverly-Jones.

"It's so great to see such a great community spirit by our sponsors.

"We look forward to many more fun and successful events to come for our local charities."

C.ex Coffs will also be holding a trivia night on April 18 where they will have loads of prizes and raffles.

It will be a great night out for groups or individuals who wish to participate. Entry is $10 and it starts at 7.30pm.

Many local businesses have donated prizes for the evening, including Dave James Entertainment, Blush Make-up and Beauty Studio, Mother Natures, Network Video Coffs, Mensland Coffs, Tooheys, The Book Warehouse, Bidvest, BP Park Beach Mini Mart and Michael Parr Barbers.

There is still time to register for the Relay For Life on May 5-6.

The community event starts at 10am on Saturday and continues through the night until 9am on Sunday.

To register a team go to relay.cancercouncil.com.au or call Fiona on 6659 8400.
