Real deal could see Ronaldo playing at the MCG

TICKET sales have been surprisingly slow for tonight's friendly between Portugal and Argentina at Old Trafford, a match that will feature Real Madrid champion Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona counterpart Lionel Messi.

Don't expect that to be the case if Ronaldo and his superstar teammates, including Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez, take on the likes of Manchester City's star men Sergio Aguera and Yaya Toure in Melbourne next July.

Final details are yet to be released, but News Limited reports suggest Real Madrid, Manchester City and Inter Milan will take part in the 2015 International Champions Cup, with games to be played at the MCG in late July. The Victorian government has committed $10 million to bring the heavyweight teams to Melbourne for the competition which has been held in the US for the past two years. The Cup is the brainchild of America billionaire Steve Ross.
