Ready to make the right moves?

WE HAVE all heard the saying "move it or lose it”.

Many seniors would like to shape up, lose a few pounds and regain some of their old energy, but they have the misconception that gyms are just for younger people.

Not at Health Club 50.

Health Club 50, or Club 50 as it is affectionately known, caters for the older person who wants to take care of their body.

Knee replacements, hip replacements, shoulder, neck and lower back pain, incontinence, osteoporosis, along with diabetes and high blood pressure, are just a few of the problems older people often have to deal with in maintaining good health.

Becoming a member of Health Club 50 with qualified staff can change a senior person's life: reducing pain, improving diabetes and high blood pressure, and increasing fitness and strength through specific exercises and programs designed just for this age group.

And the bonus is having fun in a safe environment.

Wendy, one of the club's loyal members, said she loves her time getting fit.

"Club 50 opening as a gym of over 50s at Woopi Diggers was the best decision the board could have made for the health and well-being of this ever-growing age group in this community,” Wendy said.

"Thanks to the expert skill of the trainers, I have managed to follow and maintain regular daily fitness programs involving circuit challenges, always under the watchful eye of our caring trainers; tai chi, step, floor and chair Pilates, yoga, aerobic, total body, gentle toning, and fall prevention.”

Club members can always rely on a good grounded workout, with the trainers always mindful of the differing fitness levels.

The gym has created a social hub allowing all the members to meet new friends and pursue

new interests, such as weekly tennis, monthly book club.

Club staff say that after completing all tasks in the gym, members enjoy the relaxing ambience of the Terrace Restaurant and Café Much laughter and talk abounds and many a world crisis is solved, or at the very least averted.

The wide range of activities on offer with the circuit and classes make the fees for the gym very affordable.

The trained staff are aware of individual needs. All members are catered for both personally and in exercise.

The classes and the circuit provide members with great social experience, presented with expertise, fun and much laughter.
