Rally needs volunteer officials

WITH Rally Australia – Coffs Coast just a week away organisers are making a final call for volunteer officials to help with the World Rally Championships.

More than 1200 officials have registered to work on the event in wide and varied roles, but more are needed.

“The majority of officials are from NSW and we have had great support from the local community,” Rally Australia Clerk of Course Dr Michelle Gatton said.

“But changing work and life commitments mean that some of our officials have had to withdraw from the event, leaving limited vacancies in positions on the competition route.

Volunteer officials will man the rally tracks and spectator entry points from next Thursday, September 8, to Sunday, September 11.

“Volunteering is fun, offers great camaraderie with other workers, and very often a ringside seat to witness the action or get up-close with the superstars of the WRC,” Dr Gatton said.

Registration for officials will remain open until this Saturday and can be done online at www.rallyaustralia.com.
