Rally back on council agenda

SPONSORSHIP of Rally Australia and a proposed road through Pioneer Park are among the items to be considered at tomorrow's Coffs Harbour City Council meeting.

Councillors Keith Rhoades, Denise Knight and Mark Sultana have submitted a rescission motion to approve the sponsorship of the 2016 and 2017 rounds of the World Rally Championships.

Councillors will also assess submissions on the Duke St extension through Pioneer Park, including several ecological and environmental assessments.

Other items on the agenda include a proposed 17 lot subdivision on Sawtell's First Ave, comprising two shops and 15 units, and a motion regarding contractors for the reconstruction of the Gordon St and Harbour Dr intersection.

The council will also vote on seeking ministerial consent to dispense with the holding of a by-election following the resignation of Cr Bob Palmer.
