Radio youth in the mix

RADIO training programs at CHYFM can now surge ahead thanks to the financial support of Enterprise & Training Company Limited (ETC).

“ETC’s support will enable us to buy a new on-air radio broadcast mixer for our training studio, so youth from as young as 14 can participate in training programs to really experience what radio is all about”, station manager Becky Cole said.

“As a community-based radio station, we solely rely on generous donations and second-hand equipment. It is so exciting to get the opportunity to purchase a new mixer for Coffs youth to learn and strengthen their radio skills.

“Since last October, we have been fundraising for new equipment. Now we have the opportunity to clear our waiting lists and provide more training programs for young people through to adults.”

ETC chairman Spencer Bruskin said the decision to support CHYFM with a $5000 donation is consistent with ETC’s strategic objectives.

“ETC prides itself on giving back,” he said. “As a not-for-profit organisation, all surplus generated from ETC’s operations are reinvested in the community and back into the company. It’s just one of the many ways ETC helps to create a positive future for the communities in which we operate.”

“Over the past five years, ETC is proud to have contributed significant funding from donations, sponsorship and financial support to different organisations and charities based on the Mid North Coast. We are delighted to assist CHYFM and pleased the youth of Coffs Coast can continue to benefit from the radio education offered by CHYFM.”
