Raceday all in the family

COFFS Harbour Racing Club has promised something for everyone who gets trackside this afternoon for the Easter Saturday Memorial Race Day.

Celebrating the memories of club stalwarts and supporters whose work played a significant role in making the club what it now is, today's meeting will be as much fun for the kids as it is for those who love racing.

The club has organised entertainment for the kids with magician Dane Certificate, jumping castles and Easter egg giveaways.

On the track, the feature event on the seven race program is the Takeover Target Memorial Mid North Coast Sprint over 1200m.

Drawing the inside gate and getting a 3kg claim for apprentice jockey Chelsea Ings may be enough for consistent gelding Arise Augustus to turn a string of placings into a much-deserved win.

The Brett Bellamy-trained Cobarchie has arrived in Coffs Harbour after stints in Canberra and Seymour but has enough second-up form to suggest a win in the Ted Russell Memorial Handicap isn't beyond the son of Elvstroem.
