Racing for Camp Quality

THE Coffs Coast Advocate Race Day is one of the feature events on the region’s social calendar.

The Coffs Harbour Racing Club is thrilled to team up with the Advocate for Sunday’s big event that will also raise much-needed funds for Camp Quality.

“We’ll have loads of family fun including Park Beach Plaza’s Kids Fashions on the Field, jumping castle, games and prizes and free entry for under 16s,” said Racing club CEO Russ Atkinson.

“The club has added to the atmosphere of the day by creating the Racing With Rhythms theme with two local bands playing live on stage.”

Race day packages are available and include gate entry, reserved premium seating, a race book, a drink on arrival and food throughout the day with a portion of every package sold going to Camp Quality.

As a special treat, Park Beach Plaza and the racing club will present the 2010 Face of the Carnival winner Suzan Wilkinson at her first official function since becoming a finalist at the recent preliminary Miss Universe Australia competition.

Miss Wilkinson will help judge Park Beach Plaza’s Kids Fashions on the Field.

In keeping with Camp Quality’s motto ‘laughter is the best medicine’, the fashion theme will be all about fun and laughter with first, second and third places to be awarded.

Well-known local musicians John Yarnton and Len E Johnson will perform with their respective bands Mecca and Sofalatido.

Mecca brings three musos together to form the perfect blend of easy listening music including your favourite hits from ’70s classics to funk and rock ’n’ roll.

Sofalatido presents six seasoned musicians offering jazzy Latin styles from the very cool to the steaming hot.
