Race on for place in semis

SOUTHSIDE Pier Hotel had to come from behind last Sunday to remain in second spot on the Grafton Men's A Grade ladder.

The Grafton Barbarians scored midway through the first half with an excellent shot from star-striker Troy Urquart.

Down 1-0 at half-time, Southside remained calm and played strongly in the second half to run out 2-1 winners.

 Anthony Calder scored first for Southside from a penalty corner and captain Dean Herbert scored the winner late in the second half.

Player's player was Kurt Morris, followed by Dean Herbert and Reece Edwards. Scott Waddell and Chris Shipman had strong games for Southside.

This Sunday Southside Pier Hotel will be at home for the final-round game of the year against Grafton Avros.

The game will commence at 1.20pm at Marshalls Hockey Complexin Coffs Harbour.
