Queensland Cowboys take out Touch League title

THE Queensland Cowboys have defeated the NSW Country Mavericks 7-4 to take out the 2016 National Touch League Elite Eight Men's final at C.ex Coffs International Stadium.

The Cowboys were dominant throughout the competition, going undefeated over four days.

Winning captain Daniel Withers accepted the Mark Boland Shield on the team's behalf.

"It's amazing to come down here and play with some of the greatest players around," Withers said.

"To our boys, I can't speak highly enough of this young bunch of blokes.

"At times, standing back and watching some of these young guys play with the skill they were playing with was absolutely mind-blowing."

The QLD Broncos got the better of the QLD Titans in the 2016 National Touch League Elite Eight Women's final.

In the Women's Elite Eight final, the Queensland Broncos outclassed the Queensland Titans 8-1.

The Sydney Rebels were victorious in the Mixed Open final, defeating the Brisbane City Cobras 6-4.
