Shoes to go to needy

SHOES for needy people in Haiti, Nepal and Africa have elicited a huge response from the community.

The Student Associations at North Coast TAFE Campuses have had huge community support in collecting the shoes.

“The support we have received from our students and the local communities right along the North Coast has been overwhelming and we convey our heartfelt thanks to those who donated their unused shoes,” said TAFE Student Association Officer at Grafton Angela Boorman.

“However we now have a dilemma. How do we get the many cartons of shoes to the Sydney collection point?”

The TAFE Student Associations are now looking for support from local transport companies, or someone who may have space on a backload from Brisbane to Sydney, who may be able to help move the shoe collection.

If you can help, call Mark at Coffs Harbour Education Campus, 6659 336, or Angela at Grafton Campus, 6641 1654.
