Purton moves up the table

FORMER Coffs Harbour jockey Zac Purton is enjoying a tremendous run of success in Hong Kong.

On Sunday the 27-year-old booted home his 20th winner for the season at Sha Tin, courtesy of the Paul O’Sullivan-trained Rain Of Thunder.

The victory means that Purton has now moved into fifth place on the premiership table with Sunday’s victory coming one week after he and O’Sullivan combined to snare the Group One Stewards’ Cup with Fellowship.

Another Hong Kong jockey who spent time learning his trade in Coffs Harbour is Matthew Chadwick.

Chadwick completed his apprenticeship last month and is currently sitting in third position on the jockey’s premiership table.
