Protect your data with National Consumer Fraud Week

NATIONAL Consumer Fraud Week 2015 begins today and runs until Sunday and this year consumers are asked to "get smarter with their data" by thinking about the importance of protecting their personal data to protect them from identity theft.

Bundaberg police are advising people of a few simple things everyone can do to protect their identity, including protecting your personal documents at home, putting a lock on your mailbox, being careful what you publish on social media and using strong passwords online.

For more advice and to keep up to date with scams visit the website
