Program to help you save on your power bill

SOUTH Burnett residents who want to leant more about how to save energy can attend a special Energy Savvy Families forum in Murgon later this month.

Graham House Community Centre, along with the Queensland Council of Social Services and Ergon Energy will host the forum to inform residents of the Savvy Families program.

Graham House spokesperson Iris Ferguson said the forum was open to the whole community.

"It will help people understand ways their can reduce their power bills,” she said.

At the event low-income families living in Murgon will also have the opportunity to sign up to the program.

Ms Ferguson said the program, which participants needed to be approved for, involved the installation of a digital meter in their home to help them manage energy consumption.

The Energy Savvy Forum will be held at Graham House Hall at 24 Pearen Street, Murgon on April 26 from 9am-2pm.
