PRIME Minister Julia Gillard has just arrived at Bangalow to inspect progress with the Ewingsdale to Tintenbar Pacific Highway upgrade.

Ms Gillard arrived outside the upgrade headquarters' Community Information Centre a few minutes ago, where she was greeted by Richmond MP Justine Elliot.

The MPs hugged and kissed as they greeted each other, despite Ms Elliot having today said she was "disappointed" former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd did not yesterday challenge Ms Gillard for the party leadership.
