'Vomiting non-stop': Pregnant woman gets sick from KFC

A PREGNANT woman has claimed she is recovering from food poisoning after eating KFC chicken that was possibly a month and a half out of date.

The customer said she fell sick after ordering a Giant Feast from Lismore KFC.

She and her son had eaten a chicken leg out of one box, to then open another and find a tag labelled 'Expires 15:05'.

She said she got her meal at 1.40pm on June 29.

A spokeswoman from KFC said they were "in the process of investigating what happened with the local team" and had provided a refund and full replacement meal to the customer.

"We're really sorry our customer has had this experience, as serving great food to the highest standards is extremely important to us," the spokeswoman said.

The customer, who asked not to be named, said upon finding the tag she called the store but was told the information wasn't the expiry date, but the time the food was cooked: just after 3pm that day.

"I had replied, 'I'm sorry but it's only 2pm now as I got it at 1:40pm so that makes no sense'," she said.

"I am also pregnant and ate a piece of chicken and my son (and) I drove 20 minutes.

"She replied, 'Well ... what you want me to do about it lady, what do you want?'.

"I asked if I could have a refund and her reply was, 'Whatever (see you) when you get here'."

"I drove back and eventually got my refund and a new box.

"Now I have been to the doctors today and have been vomiting non-stop and the doctor has given me (a) blood test and other test to do, as I now have food poisoning."
