Powering up a cracking return for golf club
MAKING good use of our year-round sunshine is Coffs Harbour Golf Club, which has recently had 260 solar panels installed.
The club's general manager Paul McAra said the decision to install the panels was made after the presentation of a business case which showed solar power was a great way to save money.
"We'll get the pay back in four or five years," he said, conservatively estimating savings of $15,000-$20,000 every year on power bills.
David Watson of Si Clean Energy, which installed the panels, said the panels are "a cracking return on their investment, and set them up for future usage".
"Along with the PV system, we also installed an Allsolus monitoring system that will enable the club to monitor its daily usage and savings, and identify its peak power usage times."
