Poole and Bates return

COMEBACK riders Glenn Poole and Ashlea Bates will be in the spotlight this weekend as Coffs Harbour Motorcycle Club hosts round one of the North Coast MX Series.

More than 200 riders from four years to over-45s will contest the two-day event.

Former factory rider Bates will be a candidate in the Ladies All Powers class, while prolific winner Poole will carry No 14 in the over-35s.

“The weekend will be jam-packed with action,” spokeswoman Janne Hurst said.

“Junior classes will be conducted today and seniors tomorrow, with practise commencing at 9am both days.”

Other rounds of this series will be held at Port Macquarie, Ballina, Grafton and Maclean.

This year the series become an open event, meaning riders can gain valuable points towards entry into state and national race meetings.

Public entry is free and canteen facilities are available.
