Pooch power to step out for Million Paws

POOCHES of all shapes and sizes will be stepping out this weekend as the 20th annual RSPCA Million Paws Walk gets under way at Park Beach Reserve.

Manager of the Coffs Harbour RSPCA, Sue Merrick, said the day would be a fantastic opportunity to donate towards a good cause.

"We are excited to be holding the event at Park Beach Reserve," Ms Merrick said.

"With such a prime location this time and beautiful surroundings, the event is sure to be tremendous." Community relations manager for the C.ex Group and one of the event directors, Carrie Skinner, said proceeds from the event would go towards preventing serious issues like animal cruelty as well as upkeep of the local RSPCA shelter.

"Last year we raised over $800 and this year we want to make even more," Ms Skinner said.

"Every dollar is paid straight to the local RSPCA.."

The walk will feature food, tea and coffee stalls, games, raffles and of course the much-coveted novelty dog show.

The walk will kick off at the Park Beach Reserve at 10am with registration opening at 9am.

The walk itself will go until 1pm.

For more information go to millionpawswalk.com.au or phone Sue Merrick on 6651 3311.
