The NSW Police Dodge Nitro driven by Sergeant Jarrod Langan, Senior Sergeant Tim Fairservice and Senior Constable Tony Saunders will sweep the rally tracks ahead of the field.

AN increased police presence will be visible on the Coffs Coast during Rally Australia.

Highway patrol officers will be in the thick of the action taking to the rally routes and driving the stages ahead of the field in a Dodge Nitro.

"Our job is to sweep through in front of the zero and double zeros cars to confirm the tracks are in safe condition and no spectators will be put in danger," Sergeant Jarrod Langan of Nambucca Heads Highway Patrol said.

"Once we sweep through we let the command know all is safe and the tracks are then handed over to Rally Australia, which has carriage of the routes to race on," Sgt Langan said.
