Man killed in fatal crash

A MAN died this afternoon in a single vehicle crash, west of Woolgoolga. 

Emergency services were tasked to a location along Sherwood Rd about 2.45pm.

Police arrived on scene to find a male deceased in the driver's seat of a Mitsubishi Triton utility on Gentle Annie Rd.

A 24-year-old male passenger was able to free himself and was uninjured. 

Police said the 33-year-old male driver failed to negotiate a bend and the vehicle left the road and crashed into a tree.

After the accident the passenger of the vehicle called triple-0 and reported the crash.

Crash scene investigators from the Coffs Clarence Local Area Command are establishing the factors surrounding the accident and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
