Police respond to reports of woman held at gunpoint

INVESTIGATIONS are continuing after reports of a woman being held at gunpoint in Park Beach this morning.

Shortly after 4.30am, police received several calls from concerned residents in relation to what appeared to be a disturbance inside a home in Vincent St.

Witnesses said they had seen a woman screaming on the ground as a man was standing over her armed with a firearm.

Police arrived on scene and searched the home, but the man and woman were not found.

Inspector Robert Hanzic said Vincent St was cordoned-off during the operation as a precautionary measure.

"Police take all domestic reports seriously and in this instance there was a call for help with a possibility of firearms and police responded accordingly," Inspector Hanzic said.

An investigation to locate the man and woman is continuing.
