Police respond to multiple crashes overnight

TWO more people have been injured on the region’s roads.

Yesterday, the death of a New South Wales women took the death toll to four people killed on our roads in a week.

Shortly after emergency services responded to the fatal crash on the Bruce Highway, a male teenager was injured in a single-vehicle crash on Koumala Bolingbroke Rd.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the teen injured his shoulder during the incident which happened just before 11pm last night.

He was taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition.

Just before midnight, critical care paramedics rushed to the scene of a crash on the Peak Downs Highway at Walkerston.

A woman was treated at the scene for injuries sustained from crashing into a tree about 11.55pm.

She was taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition.

A man and a woman in their 20s avoided injury in single vehicle-crash which happened on Mackay Bucasia Rd about the same time as the other two incidents.

A police spokesman said the vehicle left the road into a ditch and crashed into a sign about 10.30pm yesterday.
