GOLD Coast detectives say they are determined to solve the mystery surrounding the death of four-year-old Tyrell Cobb.
The Child Protection Investigation Unit and State Crime Command Homicide Investigation Unit and Child Trauma Taskforce have been continuing their investigations into the suspected murder at Biggera Waters in 2009.
Around 9:30pm on May 24, 2009 police were called to a Biggera Waters residence where Tyrell Cobb was located unconscious. He was rushed to hospital but died.
After the withdrawal of a prosecution case in 2010, new information has come to light resulting in a team of detectives commencing a comprehensive re-investigation of Tyrell's death.
Detective Inspector Mark White, of the Gold Coast Child Protection Investigation Unit said that detectives were determined to solve the case.
"This is an innocent four-year-old boy who has died under suspicious circumstances. It is a terribly heartbreaking and we as police are determined to solve this.
That is why we are appealing for anyone who may have any information that could assist with the investigation into the circumstances leading up to the death of the young boy to come forward.
"Any piece of information, no matter how small can have a significant impact on our investigation," Detective Inspector Mark White said.
"Information can be provided anonymously to Crime Stoppers. We want to determine exactly what happened in the time leading up to the Tyrell's death," said Detective Inspector Mark White.
