Police locate man’s body in Kempsey

A BODY discovered in Kempsey earlier today is believed to be that of missing man Stephen Hourigan.

The body was discovered in a hotel room on the Pacific Hwy shortly before 11:30am today, police have confirmed.

While the man is yet to be formally identified, police say he is believed to be a 51-year-old Stephen Hourgian who was reported missing from Armidale on Monday.

The man's death is not being treated as suspicious.

A report will now be prepared for the coroner.

Mr Hourigan went missing from his Armidale home on Monday morning, sparking an appeal for information from family and police.

Police said he was last seen leaving a Coffs Harbour hotel on Tuesday morning.
