Police issue warning about court subpoena email scam

POLICE are warning Northern Rivers residents about a scam email that is circulating which is purported to be from the Australian Federal Police.

The Richmond Local Area Command took to their Facebook page to spead the news about the scam.

"Have you received an email regarding a subpoena to attend court for a crime you never committed," police posted?

"Does the sender claim to be from the AFP?

"If so, it is a scam.

"Don't open the link or attachment, it might corrupt you computer."
