Police issue photo of man after alleged Woolgoolga assault

POLICE from Coffs-Clarence Local Area Command are appealing for assistance to locate a man who may be able to assist with inquiries into an assault that occurred earlier this year in Woolgoolga.

About 3.15pm on Saturday, May 23, a man entered a department store on the corner of Pullen Street and Solitary Island Way.

The man was aggressive towards staff and members of the public when he entered a liquor store in the complex.

He walked out of the store and into a supermarket where he continued to verbally abuse staff and members of the public.

The 37-year-old manager of the store approached the man and asked him to leave.

The man became abusive towards the manager and punched him in the face, continuing to verbally and physically assault him.

The man spat at the manager before running from the location.

Police say the manager suffered bruising to his face and the matter is being investigated.

He has been described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 50 years of age with a solid build and has thin receding hair.
