Police investigate discovery of body at Macauleys Headland

Information has been received that the deceased is a 70-year-old male.

His body was found on a large towel or blanket.

A NSW Ambulance source said that while the death does not appear to be suspicious, forensic police are continuing an investigation and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

 

AN OPERATION is underway at Macauleys Headland at Coffs Harbour where the body of a man has been discovered.

Around 8am on Saturday morning, Coffs Clarence Local Area Command was alerted to reports an elderly deceased male had been found in scrubland.

SES volunteers and NSW Ambulance paramedics were alerted and had been assisting at the scene.

A police media spokesperson said no further details are known at this time other than the body had been located and forensic officers are conducting the investigation.
