Police hunt man over armed hold-up

POLICE are investigating an armed robbery at a supermarket in Coffs Harbour earlier this evening.

At about 5.30pm, a man entered the Lucky Seven Supermarket on Park Beach Rd and allegedly grabbed the female attendant before threatening her with a gun and demanding cash.

The woman complied with his demands and handed over cash, before he ran away.

The attendant received only minor injuries and no one else was injured.

The man was last seen driving away in a gold coloured Nissan X-trail.

Police say the X-trail was stolen from a car park at McCauleys Headland a short time before the robbery.

The X-trail was located on fire a short time later on Condon St, Coffs Harbour, and was put out without anyone being injured.

A search was unable locate the man and police officers are appealing for anyone with information about the robbery, vehicle theft, or the identity of the man to come forward.

He is described as being Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander in appearance, and wearing an olive green hooded jumper.

Anyone with information in relation to these incidents should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page.
