Police go futuristic in the hunt for murdered gang figure

FORENSIC experts will join homicide detectives this morning at the scene of the shooting murder of gang figure Walid "Wally" Ahmad.

Ahmad, 40, was gunned down on April 29 last year as he sat at a cafe at the Bankstown Central shopping centre.

Dramatic CCTV footage shows his killer clad entirely in black running towards Ahmad and begin shooting.

Forensic staff will attempt to create a digital 3D representation of the crime scene today.

The laser scan will produce 3D images of the crime scene, which will then be analysed with other exhibits to assist detectives with their inquiries, police said.

The data will include biometric measurements of people captured on CCTV to establish a clear trajectory of the shooting.
