Teen stabbed in chest in serious condition
POLICE are calling for witnesses following a stabbing in Coolangatta which has left a teenage girl in hospital with a serious chest wound.
A fight broke out between a group of teenage girls at a bus stop on Griffith Street around 2.30pm.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said a 17-year-old girl was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition, following the brawl.
She had suffered a chest stab wound.
A crime scene has been established near Chemist Warehouse and ANZ Bank at Griffith Street and police are calling for assistance.
Detectives are continuing investigations and are asking for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Crime Stoppers.
