Police arrest and charge man in a Main St carpark

A MAN has been caught by Hervey Bay Police after allegedly stealing a vehicle.

Police received a call about 3.50am on Thursday to an address on Main St with reports of a man sitting in a van in the carpark.

Officers discovered the van had been stolen earlier that morning.

Police arrived and charged a 41-year-old man with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and driving unlicensed.

He is expected to appear in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court today.
