Police appeal after violent home burglary at knifepoint
Two men are on the run following a violent burglary at knifepoint at a home on the outskirts of the Sunshine Coast.
Detectives are investigating the burglary of a Woodford property on Saturday morning where firearms were stolen at knifepoint.
Police allege two masked men, armed with knives, forced their way into a house along Gumtree Ct, before they confronted a 62-year-old man and demanded the keys to a gun safe.
One of the offenders allegedly pushed the resident to the ground before stealing nine rifles, wallets, a mobile phone and car keys.
Police say both men were wearing black clothing with one described as having a large build and aged in his 30s.
The pair fled with a third person who was waiting in the driveway in a small red hatchback.
Investigators are appealing for any motorists with dashcam who were in the area or on the D’Aguilar Highway at Woodford between 6am and 7am Saturday to come forward.
