Plenty on offer as turf club hosts massive event

HORSE RACING: Two of the biggest racedays the Sunshine Coast has ever witnessed will hit the ground running this weekend.

Corbould Park will host the Hot 91.1 Ladies Oaks Day on Friday followed by the UBET Moreton Cup Raceday on Saturday which will be the richest raceday ever held on the Sunshine Coast.

The two days of back-to-back racing will put the Sunshine Coast Turf Club in the spotlight nationwide.

Turf Club CEO John Miller said the events would offer something for all racegoers.

"The Saturday UBET Moreton Cup Raceday will see local, interstate and international owners, horses and trainers competing for prize money of more than one million dollars,” he said.

"Hosting two Group 2 races is a first for the Sunshine Coast and reflects the confidence the racing industry has in the Sunshine Coast Turf Club's track and facilities.

"Friday will see Sheppard perform live at the Hot 91.1 Ladies Oaks Day. The local public holiday event has become an iconic event for the Sunshine Coast and a big crowd is again anticipated to be enjoying the festivities on course.”
