Playground rubbished

PARENTS visiting the Brelsford Park playground this week were left shaking their heads at the behaviour of some people in Coffs Harbour.

One angry local, who didn’t want to be named, took her two children to the playground on Sunday morning to discover two large yellow bags of household rubbish dumped under one of the climbing frames.

“They were full of rubbish and left wide open with chicken bones overflowing from them,” she said.

“The person who left the bags there went to a lot of trouble to place them there. There was a bin nearby so at the very least they could have put them in there.

“Kids were playing on the rubbish. The whole park was full of parents but no-one attempted to pick it up.

“It was absolutely disgusting for this to happen in a beautiful park that we have that the council has built for us.”

The woman has reported the incident to Coffs Harbour City Council, with the rangers now investigating the matter.

Unfortunately for the culprits, they left behind mail readily identifying them.
