Family History Week plans underway

COFFS Harbour District Family History Society Inc is already planning activities for Family History Week 2010 from July 31 to August 8.

Society member Joy Lane said they were hoping to have some kind of event every day during that week: perhaps a speaker for an hour, a CD or DVD of the area or a tour around the cemetery with afternoon tea at the Botanic Gardens.

They are also hoping to have a display of old photos of this area – especially family photos and pictures of people, places, homes, boats and businesses – and another one featuring old items.

She said they were hoping to have primary school students visiting these displays

Anyone who is willing to lend photographs, either copies or original prints or old items can contact Joy Lane 6653 2495 or email greylane@tpg.com.au

Mrs Lane said receipts would be given for all items, which would be cared for and returned after the displays.
